Wuthering Waves 50/50 & Guarantee System
The 50/50 is the biggest swing factor in Wuthering Waves pulling. Lose it and you're looking at up to 80 more pulls for the character you actually want. Here's exactly how it works.
The basic rule
Every 5★ you pull has a 50% chance to be the featured character and a 50% chance to be an off-banner 5★ from the standard pool.
The guarantee
If your 5★ is off-banner, the next 5★ you pull is guaranteed to be the featured character. This resets once you get the featured unit.
Carries over between banners
- ✅ Your guarantee status carries over to the next banner of the same type
- ✅ Your pity counter carries over too
- ❌ Guarantee does NOT carry between character and weapon banners
Practical impact
- Worst case for a featured character: **80 × 2 = {hard * 2} pulls**
- Average case: about {int(hard * 1.5)} pulls accounting for the 50/50
- Never pull if you're not prepared to lose the 50/50 — plan for {hard * 2}, celebrate anything better
Strategy tips
1. Track your guarantee status before the banner ends — it carries over, so don't waste it
2. Budget {hard * 2} pulls if you must have the character
3. Use the Wuthering Waves Pity Calculator with the "guaranteed featured" toggle to see both scenarios
4. If you're near soft pity (66+), decide early — your pity will carry into the next banner anyway
